Chazy, NY -West Chazy Volunteers assisted the Chazy Volunteers at their Annual Project Prom held at the Chazy Central Rural School Wednesday afternoon. The mock scene was a two car accident in which the driver , a drunk prom student., collided with another family. We hope to keep students informed by showing them the effects of drinking and driving and hope they make good choices while enjoying their prom. NYS Police, Clinton County Sheriffs, Border Patrol, were all part of the scene. Video 2nd Video

West Chazy, NY - After 5 years as Fire Chief of the West Chazy Vol Fire Department Dave Lucia passed down his reigns to newly elected Fire Chief Kevin Girard. During the monthly meeting the members presented Super Dave with a plaque thanking him for his dedication and commitment during his tenure as fire chief. Watch the Video

West Chazy, NY- West Chazy Volunteers responded to a residence on Stratton Hill road Thursday morning for assistance pumping out a flooded basement. Shown are firefighters Robby Carron, Bob Mooso, and Dave Lucia setting up the pump used for approx 2 feet of water in the basement.

Chazy, NY- Miner Institute employees were just finishing up for the morning when they spotted smoke and called 911. Volunteers responded to a reported barn fire at the Miner Institute 6:15am Thursday . When firefighters arrived on scene black smoke was seen rolling from the horse barn . A quick response by firefighters contained the fire to a horse stall. Initially a tanker task force was summoned for mutual aid but was cancelled. Cause of the fire was due to the combustion of soaked solvent rags in containers. Press Story

WELCOME OLD TIMERS- Every May the West Chazy Fire Department invites all past members to attend their monthly meeting and to meet the current members of the department. This yearly event also gives the past members a chance to see all the new apparatus and upgrades while sharing together their stories and laughs of the past years while they were in the department. The meeting also gives the currents members and auxiliary an opportunity to show off their cooking skills and serve up a home cooked meal firefighter style.
