The department is manned by 24 very dedicated and professional volunteers. Training and review take place on a weekly basis on Monday evenings. Several dedicated members of the department volunteer to advance their education and provide the basic and Advanced EMT's required in order to maintain certified, first class ambulance service free of charge to the district and Clinton County. In view of the above, the dedication of the membership and Auxiliary of this department to this small community is quite evident. This was even more exemplified during the Ice Storm of 1998. During a period of 1 week many members of the department and auxiliary worked diligently to support the community by opening up the station as a shelter for hundreds of people. Food was prepared and the space was provided for these folks to rest and stay warm and dry until electrical power was restored to the area. The membership worked endless hours checking on the people of the community and provided whatever support that was needed. Due to the initial support of Mr. Robinson and the commitment and hard work of today's membership and Auxiliary, this small community can be proud of its Fire Department. Their expertise and dedication is sure to provide professional service to the District and Clinton County for many years to come.
